Being mindful and living in the present allows us to redirect our focus. Negativity and past experiences weigh us down. Nothing can be gained from reliving a moment over and over again in our minds. Set your mind free from pain by living in the present moment.
Start by bringing awareness to routine activities, such as washing dishes, eating lunch, or walking the dog. Paying attention to the physical sensations, sounds, smells, or tastes of these experiences helps you focus. Practice frequently and eventually living in the present will come easier.
